Log Home Caulking and Sealants
Caulking and Chinking are both designed to seal your log home from the elements.
Caulking usually has no texture or a very light texture. Caulking is very elastic and is usually used in smaller joints than chinking. Caulking can be used to fill the horizontal cracks (called checks), create a continuous caulking line between the log rows, or as a stacker during construction. As opposed to chinking, caulking is usually used where it is preferable to use a sealing product that blends in with the log rather than one that calls attention to itself.
