This follow plate is designed to fit 5 gallon straight-sided pails (Sashco sealants come in straight-sided pails; Permachink Sealants and other sealant brands come in tapered pails. Check with the manufacturer). By attaching the caulking gun barrel to the outlet adapter on the loader, and pulling the follower (ratchet rod) of the caulking gun completely out, material is sucked into the caulking gun without contact with the material. The large diameter neoprene seal assures a positive seal for priming, material free from contamination at all times, and use of all the material in the pail.
